Why "Sixes" Is The Future

Reintroduced to the Olympics — ready for you

A new era of lacrosse has arrived, one that breaks barriers, shortens the learning curve, and invites the world to play. Sixes brings speed and simplicity to lacrosse, making it the perfect format for local leagues as well as the Olympics

Global Growth

The Sixes format breaks down barriers with smaller field, faster games, and leaner rosters making it easier for emerging neighborhoods and nations to compete, creating new pathways for players in the rise of lacrosse

Total Skill Development

In Sixes, players can’t hide in one role. They must learn to shoot, defend, clear, and read the game, building the all-around IQ and athleticism all coaches love to see

Olympic Momentum

Lacrosse is now an Olympic sport and Sixes is the format leading the way. That visibility opens doors for scholarships, exposure, and life-changing opportunities at the next level

Fast. Fun. Watchable.

Sixes is high-speed, high-scoring, and made for modern attention span. Players love the pace, parents love the action and fan stays engaged

Coach Garret Manno

Coach Garret Manno

Coach Manno is a Central Florida native and the youngest of nine siblings. He discovered lacrosse in the 3rd grade and fell in love with its rhythm, challenges, and community. After trying every position, he found his identity at midfield—embracing both offense and defense. He carried that versatility into a collegiate career that began at the University of Maryland as part of the #1 ranked recruiting class in the nation. He competed for a national championship in 2012 and finished at the University of Florida in the MCLA.

Now back home, he’s helping lead the next generation as a former player and coach with Winter Park Youth Lacrosse. Today, he’s channeling that same passion into growing Olympic Sixes and Flex6 through Swamplands Lacrosse. He sees the fast-paced Sixes format as a perfect bridge between accessibility and elite development—ideal for new players, seasoned athletes, and global growth alike. Whether coaching youth or organizing training, he believes Sixes holds the key to the future of the sport, both locally and worldwide.

With nearly 20 years of expeirence as a coach and official, Coach Manno is committed to building a lasting culture rooted in effort, character, and creativity. He brings Maryland’s “Be The Best” philosophy into every aspect of his work, helping players grow not just as athletes, but as people.

Coach Kai Libby

Coach Kai Libby

Coach Libby grew up just outside Chicago, where he was introduced to lacrosse by his father, founder of Peace Lacrosse the World and several high school programs. Early experiences playing with the Menominee and Lakota tribes shaped his deep respect for the Creator’s Game and its power to connect and inspire.

A lifelong student of the sport, Kai started coaching at 15 after launching the club program at Wheaton Academy. He went on to play MCLA lacrosse and DIII football at Wheaton College, where he majored in applied health science and became the lacrosse team’s all-time leading scorer and three-year captain. He later earned MVP honors while completing a master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh and competing with their university squad.

Now based in Orlando, Coach Libby is the founder of My Lax Academy, where he offers his 15+ years of experience to athletes from 1st grade to college. By blending lacrosse training with strength, agility, nutrition, and mental conditioning he aims to develop more balanced and higher-performing student-athletes. Beyond the field, he also serves on several boards dedicated to growing the game in Central Florida and building a stronger and more collaboraive lacrosse community.
